Whose Constitution is it, anyway?
In response to the Perspectives column written by Declan McCullagh, "Defending DeLay's Internet assault":
I think the meat of Delay's remarks is in the statement that the ruling was based partly on other countries' judicial decisions.
The Supreme Court's primary function is to interpret rulings based on the Constitution, while many among the learned class believe that this type of ruling is a benefit to us peasants. Many citizens are disturbed by the revelation that a European court could have influence on our judiciary.
