Editor's review

A Gonzalez remix project is particularly intriguing, given the almost hyperacoustic nature of his originals. And this EP doesn't disappoint. Standouts like "Killing for Love" trade their fret-buzzing six-strings for graceful and understated beatscapes.

Biography

Having completed a highly successful 30 date Green tour of North America with Reverb Rock (reverbrock.org), José González is set to release the "In Our Nature Remixes EP" (Digital Only) on Earth Day, April 22nd via Mute Records. The EP features tracks from the In Our Nature LP, remixed by the likes of Todd Terje, Penchenga Nord, Beatfanatic, and Landberg & Skogehall.

He follows that with the digital single for “Teardrop”, to be released May 6th by Mute. The single will include the b-side “Four Forks Ache”. (“Teardrop” is originally performed/recorded by Massive Attack)

This summer José will appear at the 2008 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival on June 13th. More news on future North American Tour Dates to come.

"For a musician whose appeal seems to be an even, responsible, enlightened serenity... he was nice and forceful, just alone with his instrument, his voice dry and his guitar laden with echo... with his economical, decisive, percussive strikes he made a sound like an ax splitting a log." -New York Times
